My series concerning the Intersection of Technology & Culture continues! (previous discussions can be found here.)

I’ve had the welcome opportunity to speak with a variety of musicians and writers, so it’s both interesting and rather overdue to address the ways technology is impacting and/or disrupting education. It was my pleasure to speak, again, with Darryl Joyner, who has almost two decades direct experience with this very topic.

We spoke about the ways things have changed in the last ten years (!!) and the surprising ways technology has created unprecedented, even unimagined opportunities. Despite the predictable naysayers who resist change, the results are already staggering and there are reasons for considerable optimism: the future is here, and lesson plans, textbooks and old-fashioned models are increasingly outmoded. Instruction is being transformed, and this is great news: we have new, improved resources to augment the process of education and the ways young minds are learning.
